The Third meeting of the Tajik and Uzbek Business Council.
Within the framework of the working visit of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov to the Republic of Tajikistan, in order to implement the points of the Protocol of the sixth meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan jointly with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan 29 September 2020 the third meeting of the Tajik-Uzbek Business Council was held with the participation of more than 70 business representatives, members of the Business Council of the two countries.
Further development of multifaceted cooperation between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, which rests on the historical closeness and similarity of the cultures of the two peoples, as well as their mutual interest in further expanding bilateral ties based on the principles of good neighborliness, is one of the priority directions of the foreign policy of the two countries.
The Tajik-Uzbek Business Council was established on 11 October 2017 in the city of Tashkent and is a non-governmental organization that brings together representatives of the business community of the two States in order to expand economic cooperation, Direct communication and dialogue between the business and financial communities, as well as facilitating the practical advancement of bilateral projects. The Chairmans of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the two countries respectively preside over the national councils.
A feature of the work of the Business Council over the past three years was the active involvement of representatives of business structures of the two countries in the activities of the Business Council and their participation in events held under the auspices of the Business Council.
In this context, great importance is attached to the full use of the capabilities of this structure, designed to assist business representatives of the two countries in a qualitative and prompt solution of certain issues that hinder their activities.
Within the framework of the event, The Tajik side noted the attention and support of foreign investors in Tajikistan. In this context, the delegation of the business circles of Uzbekistan was informed about the benefits, preferences and opportunities for creating joint ventures in Tajikistan, as well as in the territory of the existing Free Economic Zones of the Republic of Tajikistan, in which there are large preferences and benefits for foreign investors.
Following the results of the third meeting of the Tajik-Uzbek Business Council, agreements on cooperation were signed between the regional Chambers of the Sughd and Khatlon and Regional Departments of the Tashkent and Ferhgana regions.
In conclusion, the parties supported the proposal of the National Part of the Business Council from the Republic of Uzbekistan to hold the fourth meeting of the Business Council in 2021 in the city of Tashkent.
