On October 29, 2025, the first meeting of the Committee on Green Business Development was held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan (further CCI RT).

The event brought together representatives of government bodies, the private sector, international organizations, and public associations engaged in sustainable development and environmental protection.

Opening the meeting, the leadership CCI RT emphasized that the establishment of the Committee on Green Business Development represents an important step toward implementing the National Strategy for Green Economy Development in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2023–2037, aimed at achieving environmentally sustainable, resource-efficient, and inclusive economic growth.

During the meeting, participants discussed several key topics, including:

 an overview of the National Strategy for Green Economy Development in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2023–2037;

 pathways for developing the green economy and its impact on the private sector;

 the role of business in promoting environmentally friendly technologies and sustainable production;

 environmental aspects and standards contributing to the competitiveness of Tajik enterprises in domestic and international markets.

Special attention was given to the institutional strengthening of the Committee and the identification of priority areas for its activities.

Participants highlighted the importance of close cooperation among the business community, academia, and government agencies to promote green economy principles in Tajikistan. This includes organizing training workshops, developing proposals to encourage “green” investments, and supporting environmentally sustainable enterprises.

The CCI RT reaffirmed its readiness to serve as a platform for dialogue between the state and the private sector and to facilitate the creation of favorable conditions for integrating green economy principles into the national economic policy.
