Business of Tajikistan and Shaanxi worked and will work together
In order to promote cooperation and development of bilateral economic relations between Tajikistan and China, on December 12, 2018, Odil Sangov, Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan, met with a delegation of Shaanxi Province at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The delegation included: Mr. Liang Hongxiang, Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee of the People’s Congress of Shanxi Province; Mr. Qiao Jun, Chairperson of the Committee on Budgetary Affairs of the Standing Committee of the People’s Congress of the Province of Shanxi; Mr. Ma Imen, Director of the Foreign Relations Office of the Standing Committee of the People’s Congress of the Province of Shaanxi; Vice Mayor of Hancheng City, Mr. Zhang Xingzhuang; Secretary of the Head Office of the Standing Committee of the People’s Congress of Shanxi Province, Mr. Ren Y; Mr. Jin Libo, Senior Officer at the Foreign Relations Office of the Standing Committee of the People’s Congress of Shanxi Province.
The Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan noted the high level of trade and economic cooperation and the 26th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between the neighboring countries, stressing that Chinese initiatives within the framework of the One Belt – One Way Project are perceived in Tajikistan with high interest.
The delegation of Shaanxi expressed an increased interest in cooperation in various sectors of the economy, in particular in the creation of joint production enterprises and the development of industrial cooperation.
The proposals were made for cooperation in the field of hydropower and power generation, creation of a joint venture involving Chinese advanced technologies in the development of mineral deposits, transport and telecommunications, chemical, metallurgical, light and processing industries, agriculture, tourism, construction of modern storage facilities for fruits and vegetables. Particular attention was paid to the participation of Chinese capital in free economic zones in the country.
Sangov O. A. also noted the significant role of inter-chamber relations between business structures for promotion of Tajik-Chinese relations. The exchange of business delegations, the organization of PRC exhibitions in Tajikistan, the participation of Tajik commodity producers at the exhibitions in Shaanxi Province of the PRC continue to be an important areas of bilateral cooperation. It is necessary to more actively use the capacities of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Tajikistan and the Shaanxi Province and, particularly, to establish business contacts between entrepreneurs of the two countries. First of all, it is reasonable to establish prompt mutual informing of the business community about the potential business opportunities in the countries.
Referring to the interregional component of the Tajik-Chinese relations, the Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan expressed hope that the visit of the honorable delegation of Shaanxi Province to Tajikistan would give new impetus to the joint development of investment activity, primarily in the context of goods promotion in the markets of the two countries.
During the visit, the delegation of Shanxi Province will visit a number of the country’s industrial enterprises.
