Tajikistan Pavilion has opened at the International Exhibition “EXPO 2020” Dubai

On September 30, the opening ceremony of the EXPO-2020 World Exhibition took place in Dubai. The slogan of the event is “Connecting minds, creating the future”. The opening ceremony took place on the central square of the expo center – under the Al-Wasl dome. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the dates for EXPO 2020 in Dubai have been postponed. The exhibition was opened on October 1, 2021, and the exhibition will run until March 31, 2022.

It is expected that during this time, the exhibition, which houses the Pavilions of 192 countries, will be visited by 25 million people.

On October 1, 2021, at the International Exhibition “EXPO 2020” in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, the opening ceremony of the Pavilion of the Republic of Tajikistan took place. The event was attended by the General Commissioner of the Pavilion of the Republic of Tajikistan at the International Exhibition “EXPO – 2020”, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tajikistan – Jamshed Jumakhonzoda, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to the United Arab Emirates – Bahodur Sharifi, Consul General of the Republic of Tajikistan in Dubai – Ilhom Abdurahmonzoda, Director international participants of “EXPO 2020” – Andre Dorado, Director of the UAE Pavilion – Mariam Amiri, Director of the Tajikistan Pavilion Odil Sangov, representatives of the diplomatic corps of Tajikistan, representatives of the countries participating in the International Exhibition, employees of the Tajik pavilion.

Jamshed Jumakhonzoda – General Commissioner of Tajikistan Pavilion in his speech noted that Tajik Pavilion is built based on the global initiatives of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and the National Development Strategy of Tajikistan until 2030, Tajik Pavilion is built according to the approved theme “Water for Sustainable Development”, using and demonstrating elements of national architecture, fascinating nature, water resources,  and tourism. It was noted that the main purpose of the participation of the Republic of Tajikistan in this world-class event is to present Tajikistan to the world, including culture and history, industry and agriculture, as well as tourism and investment opportunities. The Republic of Tajikistan will present the country’s potential and achievements in water resources, light industry, food industry, mining, road construction, urban development, processing of medicinal plants, as well as culture and art, folk crafts, tourism, rare animals such as mountain sheep “Marco Polo”, mountain goat “Morkhur”, and the Snow bars.

Tajikistan’s Ambassador to the UAE Bahodur Sharifi congratulated those present on the opening of the Tajik pavilion and noted that Tajikistan’s participation in EXPO-2020 is a good opportunity to present Tajikistan’s economic achievements, export opportunities, history and culture both in the United Arab Emirates and in the Arab countries in general, and at the global level.

André Dorado, a representative of the Expo 2020 administration, congratulated Tajikistan on the opening of the pavilion at one of the largest World Expo 2020 exhibitions in Dubai, highlighting the beauty of Tajikistan, its beautiful nature, rich culture and history, and the opportunities for cooperation and investment with Tajikistan. It was noted that the Tajikistan pavilion is a reflection of the beauty of Tajikistan and, despite the technical difficulties, is beautifully designed.

At the end, the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the General Commissioner of the Tajik Exposition introduced the guests to the pavilion and presented the exhibits and export goods of Tajikistan.

The Republic of Tajikistan has been given a pavilion with a total area of 430m2, with an exhibition area of 230m2 on the first floor and 200m2 on the second floor for storage and technical facilities. 

The international exhibition EXPO 2020 is attended by ministries and departments of the country, representatives of the private sector, who presented their products and exhibits.
