On June 24, 2026, an extended meeting of the Board of the SCO Business Council was held in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic. The meeting was attended by and featured a speech from Rahmonalizoda Farhodshoh Rahmonali, Chairman of the National Section of the SCO Business Council from Tajikistan and Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan.
At the beginning of his remarks Rahmonalizoda F. R. noted that thanks to the wise and far-sighted policy of the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, Tajikistan’s relations with the member states of the Organization have reached a qualitatively new level and yielded significant practical results.
The meeting, attended by broad delegations of economic institutions, including heads of chambers of commerce and industry of the member states and representatives of the SCO Secretariat, focused on ways to eliminate technical barriers and coordinate private sector activities under new geo-economic conditions.
In his speech, Rahmonalizoda F. R. emphasized that the SCO economic space represents a strategic priority for Tajikistan and serves as a key foundation for the development of regional trade. It was noted that the share of SCO member states in Tajikistan’s total foreign trade reached a record 75 percent in 2025.
The Chairman also highlighted the significant contribution of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan to the development of trade and entrepreneurship and presented information on its activities and achievements to the participants.
During the discussion of initiatives, the Tajik side supported the proposal made at the previous meeting in China to establish three working groups. It was emphasized that the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan possesses the necessary subordinate structures, including the Committee on Transport and Logistics, the Green Trade Development Committee, the E-Commerce Council, the Mediation Center and the International Commercial Arbitration, which could contribute to strengthening the activities of these working groups.
At the conclusion of his speech, the Chairman proposed holding the next meeting of the SCO Working Group on Transport and Logistics in Dushanbe on the sidelines of the Meeting of Heads of Government of the SCO member states in October this year and organizing the specialized exhibition “SCO Transport and Logistics” within its framework.
This initiative was supported by the Board of the Business Council and included in the final protocol of the meeting.
In addition, during the event, Rahmonalizoda F. R., Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan and Chairman of the National Section of the SCO Business Council from Tajikistan, was awarded the commemorative medal dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
