On June 30, 2026, a meeting was held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan with the participation of the leadership and staff of the central office to explain the importance of adopting the United Nations General Assembly Resolution “International Decade for Peace for the Sake of Future Generations (2027–2036)”.
The meeting was opened by the Chairman of the Chamber, Rahmonalizoda Farhodshoh, who noted that in today's world, when humanity is faced with growing security threats, armed conflicts, terrorism, extremism, climate change, and economic and social crises, the issue of strengthening peace has acquired more vital importance than ever before.
The experience of recent years shows that without peace and stability, neither sustainable development nor the protection of human rights and interests can be ensured, because peace is the main basis for economic progress, social development, strengthening statehood, and ensuring a decent life for people.
In this context, the Resolution of the United Nations General Assembly entitled “International Decade for Strengthening Peace for Future Generations (2027–2036)”, which was proposed at the initiative of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, is considered an important political and diplomatic event at the international level. This initiative not only reflects the growing influence of Tajikistan on the world stage, but also testifies to the active role of our country in resolving important international issues.
The adoption of this resolution is a clear proof that the international community has recognized the importance of Tajikistan's initiative. By adopting this document, the Member States of the United Nations have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening peace, developing dialogue, expanding mutual understanding and solidarity between generations. The resolution emphasizes the main goals and principles of the Charter of the United Nations, including the peaceful resolution of disputes, conflict prevention and the maintenance of international peace, as core values.
At the end of the meeting, employees of the central office, regional chambers and domestic companies-members of the chamber were also invited to conduct advocacy, propaganda and explanatory work on this issue among other segments of society.
