TAJIK DRIED FRUITS AT AN EXHIBITION IN TURKEY

Ten dried fruit processors from Tajikistan, new players in the dried fruit industry in Central Asia, are participating in the prestigious international exhibition GROWTECH/Antalya -2025, which is taking place in Antalya, Turkey, from November 18 to 21, 2025.

Four of them — Mevai Zarrin, Mevai Asht, Kharif, and Nerui Kand — have joined nearly 8,000 participants from around the world at this leading food industry exhibition to present their latest products to almost 150,000 visitors. Relevant sectoral institutions such as the Ministry of Agriculture, the Tajikstandart Agency, the National Accreditation Center, and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tajikistan are also part of the delegation attending the event.

This visit and participation in the exhibition are organized within the framework of the UNDP project “Aid for Trade in Central Asia (AfT) Phase V,” funded by the Government of Finland, and the project “Livelihood Improvement in Tajik-Afghan Cross-Border Areas – LITACA III,” funded by the Government of Japan, in cooperation with the Aga Khan Foundation and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tajikistan.

The event will provide an excellent platform for Tajik dried-fruit processors to promote their products and capabilities, discuss potential business partnerships, and explore new global market development trends.

Adolat Mirzoshoeva, a representative of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tajikistan, noted: “Participation of the Tajik delegation in the exhibition will allow us to showcase the agricultural potential of the country, expand export opportunities for domestic producers, and strengthen international cooperation in the agro-industrial sector.”

The international exhibition Growtech Antalya is one of the world’s leading platforms in agriculture, agrotechnologies, and agribusiness. Every year, the exhibition brings together producers, investors, government officials, and business representatives from more than 120 countries.

At the event, Tajik companies will also participate in panel discussions, workshops, and business forums, engaging in productive conversations on the latest trends and developments in the industry. During these sessions, they will gain valuable insights into market requirements and new consumer preferences, helping them maintain competitiveness and identify new development opportunities.

By taking part in the exhibition, Tajik companies will not only be able to expand their export potential but also introduce visitors to the unique flavors and wide assortment of Tajik dried-fruit products. The event will serve as an important step toward strengthening their ties with the global food industry and establishing their presence as significant players in the international market.

About the UNDP Project “Aid for Trade in Central Asia”

The project aims to support the countries of Central Asia (Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan) in promoting inclusive and sustainable growth models in rural areas and in “green” production sectors. Building on the experience of previous phases of the UNDP Aid for Trade project, the current phase focuses on identifying niche products rather than encouraging local producers to compete internationally in traditional export goods (primarily fresh fruits and vegetables).

About the UNDP Project “Livelihood Improvement in Tajik-Afghan Cross-Border Areas – LITACA”

Building on the achievements of LITACA I and II, as well as previous Japan-funded and JICA-supported projects and initiatives, UNDP Afghanistan, together with UNDP Tajikistan and with the support of JICA, is implementing LITACA as part of a long-term cross-border program aimed at improving the livelihoods of people living in the border provinces of Tajikistan and Afghanistan. The LITACA initiative is part of a broader long-term cross-border cooperation program between JICA and UNDP.
